Real Trees in the Middle of the Mojave Desert

Hi Everyone:

Barb & I find it amazing that we found an RV Park in the Mojave Desert with real trees and shade. This is the first trees since we were in eastern Oklahoma. We're going to hang out here for a few days, check out Route 66 in the area & enjoy the shade.

Kingman Arizona Classic Route 66

Hi Everyone:

Here are some classic Route 66 Landmarks in Kingman Arizona. The Powerhouse Route 66 Museum was the first electric generating station around here in the early 20th century. The old Kingman Train Station is now a railroad museum.

Tomorrow we hit the road again for our next location in Southern California.

Old Route 66 Oatman Highway

Hi Everyone:

There is a really great stretch of old Route 66 that runs away from the interstate for over 50 miles. The Oatman Highway passes through a scenic desert and mountain area of western Arizona. It runs from Kingman AZ through some small southwest towns, including the quite unique town of Oatman, which has wild Burrows roaming the streets. The Highway rejoins the interstate at the Arizona / California state line. It was a rather warm day in the area. The car's outside thermometer read 104 deg.

Hi Everyone:

Tomorrow Barb & I are moving to our next location. Today was a get it together day. Grocery, errands, tying up loose ends & other stuff. Here are some other pictures from the Grand Canyon that we took yesterday.

Hi Everyone:

Barb & I took a day trip today to Sedona & Oak Creek Canyon. It was another great day in both the weather & the beautiful scenery.

This picture is the Moon over a red rock mesa just at sunset. This mesa is part of Oak Creek Canyon. We returned late so I will add additional pictures to this post tomorrow.
