Death Valley - Day One

Hi Everyone:

Death Valley National Park is tremendously large at almost 3,000 square miles. We were there for two days and drove over 250 miles each day. The park is desolate and unforgiving, but very beautiful. This is a place of extremes that holds the record for the hottest place on Earth at 134 deg F. It is the driest place in the United States at less than two inches average rainfall per year. Some years there is no rain here at all. Badwater Basin, in the heart of Death Valley is 282 feet below sea level, It's the lowest point in North America. The highest point in Death Valley is Telescope peak at 11,043 feet. This place exceeded our expectations in every way. Barb & I will always cherish our experienced in Death Valley.
